Comida Japonesa Kyoto Melaque

This is my favorite Japanese restaurant in Melaque. Not so much for the quality of the food but because of the different menu, location and they are open till 8 or 9 in the evening. The cook here learned his skills at the restaurant on the highway and thought longer hours and a different menu would work. The restaurant on the highway closes early in the afternoon and you are on the highway.

Comida Japonesa Kyoto is open for dinner and is located just off the east end of the market almost two blocks off the beach from Don Bigotes. When I don't feel like a full meal I order their half orders for nearly half the price. You can get a beer in the Deposito next door.

Comida Japonesa

Same family that runs the Japanese restaurant on the highway but are open until 7pm rather than closing around 5pm like the other store. Some have said the same menu but I don't think so. Last night had yakisoba that was great with thin noodles, not the fat ones, and lots of veggies. Can't wait to try a few other things I saw.

It's located in the Melaque central market

Two new restaurants in town

Well at least Doña Agueda is new to me. Can't remember if they enlarged it or if used to be something else. At least new paint and patio in front. I guess the only reason I mention it is I think they make a good pizza. Good pizza will not be agreed upon between the local grumpy gringos ... but I definitely put this up with the best in town. Just ask for thin crust and NO hotdog (salchicha)

Fuku is a new Chinese and Japanese restaurant a block off the plaza on the next street toward the highway from Taco Row. I've only had their Teriyaki but I heard the Tempura is good. The hours are 11-7pm which is two hours longer than the Japanese place on the highway which closes at 5pm (no time for dinner). Fuku also does home delivery.
