The road into Pinal Villa is so bad we now cut across to near the Prepa. Lorena said we should stop and look because the last time we saw it, it was just a big hole in the ground. Good to see the government spending money on something important. Supposed to have a few classrooms a well.

A Bridge to Pinal Villa
Finally some decent work is done on the road to Pinal Villa. Hopefully, we'll get two more. They did grade most of the road but there are still two more water crossings. We also have new night lights around the "campo de futbol". Cihuatlan Government is doing what it promised.
Whoops .... make that two bridges. They must have finished this one late yesterday. Only one more to go.

Sewer work to begin
A notice from Canal 10 on Facebook says that work will begin soon to make these sewer repairs which looks way over due. Actually it's not that unusual to see but this is a little more extreme. It appears the registro in the intersection is broken and the house on the bottom's sewer is either broken or clogged.
You'll never see an official CAUTION sign when there's a hole in the road. It seems to be up to the neighbors to stick something in it like a log or palm frond.
Soon to initiate the work for solving the problems of drainage in the street Jesús Morett y Alberto Macias of colony in Villa Obregon

Cuastecomate surprise
I hadn't been to Cuastecomate in quite awhile and I read an article about many improvements and making the beach accessible for disabled people. Someone that lives there also made a list of changes like sewer, waste treatment and underground utilities .... but neither gave a hint about the current progress.
Turns out the place is a complete mess and must be a real pain for those that live there. We went on a weekend so it was crowded and we parked about 4 blocks up from the beach on the entrance road. Beach is still nice even though it was raining. If I had known I'd probably have waited a few weeks ... or maybe months?.

Didn't see the snake
Rat Snake of the road to Pinal Villa
Lorena said she saw him and heard the thump-thump but I must have been paying more attention to other vehicles or bicycles. I said "where" and she said you just ran over it. I stopped the car and sure enough he was on the road behind us. Sad to say that little bulge on his rear section are his insides popping out. I got a stick and tossed him off the road but I'm afraid he was a goner and two school kids stepped in to finish the job. He was over a meter long and I'm sure a good mouse and rat catcher. I believe he is a "Rat Snake"

It rained again
It rained again while I was up in Seattle but this time the near equivalent of Hurricane Jova. 12" in two days. Again no problems in our neighborhood but heard that the road to Pinal Villa was nearly impassable for those two days. My house sitter used my camera to take pictures of the road in front of his house which is beyond what is normally maintained. We live in a big valley and all the water heads for Melaque as you can see below.
