A nearly Norman Rockwell scene ... especially with the dog. Cuchillo lives across the street and is always helping the neighborhood kids. His wife is sewing up some of my torn sheets and pillow covers. If it's 100% cotton, repair it if you can.

Waterpark and Picnic Sunday

The kids have been dying to go to the water park all summer vacation but we've been using my pool or going to the beach.  Finally someone suggested last Sunday, the day before school starts. We threw a bunch of sandwich stuff together and a cooler with Coke and beer and off we went.  Arriving later than usual there were no areas open near the kids pool so we setup by the deep pools and water slides.  Turned out to be a nice spot except we got bombed on occasion by falling mangoes.

Pinal Villa school for migrant kids

Children, who work all day in the fields near Melaque, Mexico, go to school for a couple of hours in the evening. They are driven to and from the school by John LaPointe. In this clip, musician Miguel visits the kids to sing and teach guitar.
